Ricksons Solicitors (John Hartup) represented management consultancy and training business Morgan Kai and the training, consulting and research company Mitre Group in relation to its merger for an undisclosed value.
Davis Polk & Wardwell (Joseph Rinaldi, Dennis Hersch) acted for Alcan in its public offer to acquire Pechiney for e3.4bn (£2.39bn) in cash and equity. Sullivan & Cromwell and Linklaters also represented Alcan. Allen & Overy, Bredin Prat and Shearman & Sterling acted for Pechiney.
Allen & Overy (Jeremy Parr) acted for SunGard Data Systems in its recommended offer to acquire the entire share capital of Sherwood for £65.1m. Taylor Wessing advised Sherwood.
Jones Day Gouldens (James Brokenshire) represented UK property investment company Ashtenne Holdings in its purchase, through a wholly-owned subsidiary, of the serviced business space division of Mentmore for £189m. Eversheds acted for Mentmore.
Clifford Chance (Christophe Salamon, Aymeric Flamant) advised Duke Street Capital on its acquisition of French budget chain Galaxie. Galaxie was advised by Nomos, Le Men Le Bras Monreau Joyeux Donel et Associes and Exco Bretagne.
Lovells (Derek Baird) represented Advent International on its purchase of FD International, alongside the management, from Cordiant Communications for £26m. Macfarlanes acted for FD International, with Ashurst Morris Crisp advising the management.
