Lawyers at a conference on limited liability partnerships (LLPs), organised by the International Bar Association earlier this month, expressed mixed feelings about the Government's White Paper on LLPs. David Goldberg QC, who helped draft the Jersey law on LLPs, said: “The paper is to be welcomed, but I do feel it suggests too much regulation.” Tina Williams, a specialist in partnership law at Fox Williams, said that detailed regulation should be left to professional governing bodies.
