Last month President Bush signed the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. This apparently radical legislation will introduce many changes into the US energy policy, but does it go far enough? As this US Special Report argues, it is hard not to think that the US government has missed yet another opportunity to make its energy policy more forward-looking.
While we are in a forward-looking frame of mind, it is impossible not to wonder what 2008 holds in store for the US market economically. Most, if not all, market watchers are calling “recession”. Certainly the signs are not good, with the recent redundancies at Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft highlighting the fact that law firms are not shielded from the downturn.
Consequently, the report also analyses what might be in store for the US restructuring market. Sadly, this may be required reading all round.
