Prudential GC takes over from Mahy as GC100 chair

Prudential general counsel Peter Maynard has replaced the National Grid general counsel, Helen Mahy, as chair of FTSE100 in-house group, the GC100.

Mahy remains on the group’s 12-person committee after stepping down as chair last week, while Maynard becomes the third person to chair the GC100 in its three-year history.

Centrica general counsel Grant Dawson and Scottish & Newcastle legal chief Peter Kennerley have been appointed joint vice chairs of the committee taking over from Maynard and Reuters general counsel Rosemary Martin. Richard Bennett, general counsel at HSBC, will stay on as treasurer of the group for another year.

The GC100 was set up three years ago to represent the interests of general counsel at FTSE 100 companies.
