Last week Tulkinghorn brought news of the humiliation experienced by trainees at the Leeds and Manchester offices of Eversheds, as they were strong-armed into an eye-watering 12-minute cover of Take That’s Never Forget as an offbeat farewell to the firm’s Leeds buildings. Dressed as choirboys.
In response to such abuse of the young, innocent and slightly overkeen, the Law Society’s Junior Lawyer’s Division has set up a Childline-style hotline for law students, trainees and lawyers with up to five years’ PQE, who can call for advice when the prospect of another hour’s due diligence, photocopying or rehearsing 1990s boy band anthems seems simply too much to bear.
As well as a sympathetic ear, the hotline also offers junior lawyers careers advice, information on the group’s social events and… er… opportunities to volunteer at the Law Society.
