DLA and Prices join forces in Belgium

DLA has merged with its Belgian alliance firm Price & Partners in the first full European integration of two DLA & Partners (D&P) firms

The move is important strategically because it supports DLA's vision of becoming a top five full-service European firm with a significant presence in Asia within the next three years.
Brussels-based Prices has been with D&P since its inception in October 1999. Its current focus is advising foreign clients investing in Belgium, but the merger will create a 19-lawyer full-service firm and will give Prices a better capability to give EU advice.
Prices managing partner Charles Price said the merger will create a different kind of European law firm based on full-service capabilities. He said the firm will benefit from the systems and approach of an international law firm.
DLA already has a Brussels office providing regulatory advice, but head of DLA's international network and managing partner of the Brussels office David Church said there is room in the Belgian market for a full-service firm. “It's key for any firm seeking to grow in Europe to have a strong base in Brussels,” he said.
When D&P was set up, there were just four members, which were based in the UK, Belgium, France and Spain. However, since then, the alliance has expanded to include firms in Germany, Italy, Russia, Singapore, the Netherlands and Scandinavia.
