Walker Morris partner Martin Price has joined Russell Jones & Walker (RJW) to lead its Manchester-based employment group.

Price will act exclusively for claimants at his new firm, having previously represented both claimants and respondents. Past clients have included members of the Association of Principal Fire Officers, the Chief Police Officers’ Staff Association and former England football coach Steve McClaren on his appointment to the post. He replaces David Franey, who has become an Employment Tribunal judge and who will continue working at RJW as a consultant. RJW national

DWF has moved to strengthen its City ­insurance practice with two lateral partner hires. Ashley Mahon and Joseph Arazi have joined the firm as partners from Plexus Law and Barlow Lyde & Gilbert respectively.

Mayer Brown associate Emily Monastiriotis has joined Bond Pearce as a construction ­partner in its City commercial insurance practice.

Mayfair-based family law firm Camilla ­Baldwin has expanded its team with the ­recruitment of Fiona Forsyth as a senior ­associate. Forsyth, an experienced litigator, joins from the family department at Gordon Dadds.


ASB Law has promoted dispute resolution associate Lyndsey Ratcliffe to partner. Ratcliffe’s colleague in the dispute resolution group Tania Clench has been promoted to associate.

Harrison Clark has made a trio of partner ­promotions across its two offices. Matthew Waddington has been made partner in the ­Cheltenham divorce and children’s law group along with residential property head Emma Childs. Dan Cambridge has also been made up in the insolvency team at the Worcester office.

Banbury firm Spratt Endicott has hired Wright Hassall solicitor Petra Van Dijk as a ­solicitor in its commercial litigation team.

has joined FBC Manby Bowdler from DWT Legal. Lloyd, who will be based in the firm’s Wolverhampton office, was previously a solicitor at MFG Solicitors.


Irwin Mitchell has hired DLA Piper ­commercial property consultant Paul Firth as a partner. Firth, who will work with head
of business Niall Baker to raise the firm’s nationwide profile in commercial law, was Sheffield managing partner at DLA Piper for 14 years. He was also managing partner for the firm’s seven non-London offices between 2006 and 2009.

Leeds firm Shulmans has made two ­appointments to its construction and property litigation group. Specialist construction lawyer Susan Barrington-Binns joins from Turks and Caicos Islands firm Misick and Stanbrook, where she was a senior attorney. Non-practising barrister Michael Grant has also joined the ­property litigation team.

Yorkshire firm Gordons has beefed up its ­commercial property team with the appointment of Whitaker Firth partner Chris Green as a ­consultant. Green has previously enjoyed an eight-year spell as senior partner at the Bradford firm.


French boutique Kalliopé has welcomed ­Tanguy d’Everlange to its partnership. He will head the firm’s M&A department. Prior to joining Kalliopé Tanguy worked in the ­corporate/M&A department of the Paris and ­London offices of Shearman & Sterling.

Withers has appointed Baker & McKenzie wealth management associate Michael Parets as a special counsel in its Zurich office, which is due to open in April.


White & Case has stepped up its bengoshi presence in Japan with hire of two new partners from Paul Hastings. Jun Usami joins as co-head of the Tokyo M&A/corporate practice alongside existing co-head Brian Strawn. Ayako Kawano, meanwhile, will bolster the ­corporate and real estate offering.


Nixon Peabody has appointed employment partner Gary Oberstein as its Boston managing partner. Oberstein replaces Andrew Glincher in the role, with Glincher in turn becoming chief executive and managing partner. The firm has also appointed US Assistant Attorney Alex ­Lipman as a partner in its white-collar crime practice in New York.

Bingham McCutchen has expanded its ­Washington DC tax practice with the addition of Craig Sharon as a partner. Sharon is currently director of the Advanced Pricing Agreement ­Program at the US Internal Revenue Service.

Dickstein Shapiro has strengthened its ­private equity and M&A offering with the recruitment of Malcolm Sandilands as a
partner. Sandilands, who has more than 20 years’ experience advising private equity funds and their portfolio companies, joins from Bingham McCutchen, where he was a partner.
