Pannone has made up nine partners this year, with promotions being made across the board.
The largest numbers were made up in clinical negligence and regulatory – which took two apiece. While one each were made up in business development, commercial, family, litigation and personal injury.
Managing partner Steven Grant told The Lawyer: “This reflects the nature of the practice and the fact that we continue to work across a broad range [of areas] – private client as well as business services.”
Four of the new partners trained at the Manchester-based firm, which also promoted four women among the group, a fact that Grant said was not a deliberate policy: “People will be promoted on the basis of ability rather than gender,” he said. “But we have a long track record of having a significant amount of female partners.”
Alongside these promotions, Pannone has announced four promotions to the equity from salaried status. Three of these (Samantha Blackburn, Richard Crabtree and Beverely Darwent) are fixed share equity partners and one (Philip Treanor) a full equity partner. Forty per cent of the firm’s equity partners are now women.
Last year the firm made up 11 to the salaried partnership. In total the firm now has 48 salaried, 23 fixed share equity and 40 full equity partners.
