Sybase Euro counsel quits to join Reckitt Benckiser

Anglo-Dutch consumer goods giant Reckitt Benckiser has appointed its second vice-president and general counsel in just over 18 months.

As first revealed on (15 September), the company has appointed the European general counsel of IT group Sybase as senior vice-president and general counsel.

Chris Roberts is leaving the Silicon Valley-based software giant after five years to take over from John Guidry.

Guidry left Reckitt Benckiser last February to return to the US for personal reasons after just a year in the post. He was promoted to senior vice-president and general counsel in January 2003.

Slough-based Reckitt Benckiser uses Slaugther and May for legal advice.

Both Reckitt Benckiser and Roberts declined to comment.
