As first reported on TheLawyer.com (10 October), Slaughters moved into the same building as best friends Italian firm Bonelli Erede Pappalardo, France-based Bredin Prat, Germany’s Hengeler Mueller and Spain’s Uria Menendez.
BLP, which has four partners based in the city, has taken the top floor of the building, at Square de Meeus in the European Quarter.
BLP managing partner Neville Eisenberg said: “We have expanded our EU and competition team, reflecting the growing importance of EU legislation and the increased regulation around competition issues.”
BLP has moved to reflect Slaughters’ international strategy, establishing “non-exclusive preferred friends relationships” with more than 100 independent firms in over 50 countries.
Brussels, and a small outpost for ex-Slaughters partner Antoine-Audoin Maggiar in Paris, are the firm’s only international presences.
