The new footy season kicked off last week to collective relief around the country, as legions of blokes now have something to do again on a Saturday.
Solicitors, of course, are not exactly renowned for being shy and retiring, but one football-obsessed trainee appears to be a bigger fan of the sports-related spotlight than most.
Richard Griffiths of Midlands-based Higgs & Sons has apparently built a reputation for two things during his brief tenure at the firm: his love of Wolverhampton Wanderers and his love of the spotlight. And it seems the 24-year-old has even developed a knack for combining these two passions.
Griffiths recently appeared on Sky Sports’ Soccer AM programme as one of the ‘fans of the week’, a role that required Griffiths, resplendent in his Wolves kit, to sashay up and down the catwalk accompanied by presenter Tim Lovejoy and a female fan known only as a ‘soccerette’.
Griffiths managed the task admirably. Still, as a former incumbent of Wolfie, the Wolves mascot, no wonder he could manage a spot of cat walking in his stride.
