MANCHES & Co has bounced back from the loss of its heads of insolvency and banking by hiring three partners from rival firms to bolster its property, insurance and construction teams.
Commercial property specialist Peter Sugden has joined from the disintegrating West End firm Forsyte Saunders Kerman, Martin Benson arrives from niche insurance firm Fishburn Boxer, and Robert Oakes has arrived from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, where he was head of construction.
Oakes' move was first reported in The Lawyer in April.
The appointments are a boost to Manches after the loss in April this year of its heads of banking and insolvency, Andrew Knight and Andrew Visintin, to Edge & Ellison's London office.
Sugden told The Lawyer that he had had the opportunity to go with the rest of Forsytes' highly-rated property team to Lawrence Graham when Forsytes decided to split. But he felt that, after ten years, he “had had enough”.
