Chancery set Radcliffe Chambers has boosted its ranks with two new barristers, launching an employment ;litigation practice in the process.

The chambers has hired Shantanu ;Majumdar from Lamb Chambers. Majumdar specialises in professional negligence, commercial and employment litigation and was called to the bar in 1992.

A ;spokesperson ;for Radcliffe said: “It’s a bit of a development for us. We’re mostly a chancery set, but Shantanu does a lot of commercial ;work. ;His employment work will complement our pensions expertise. It’s nice to take a step into employment now when it’s a growing area.”

Along with Majumdar, the chambers has hired tax specialist Mark Thomson from the Inland Revenue. And Radcliffe is looking to expand further.

“We get applications all the time, but they do have to fit our practice areas of pensions, property and private client,” stressed the spokesperson.
