PINSENT Curtis has lost two more key members of its Leeds practice to Garrett & Co. Both are from the firm's PFI group.
PFI director Michael Longden, a non-solicitor with partner-equivalent status, left for Garretts in April. He is a specialist in charities and public sector tax and joined Simpson Curtis in 1989, after 17 years as a tax inspector at the Inland Revenue. He said: “My new job provides me with a better platform to do PFI work which I find very rewarding.”
The other mover is PFI partner Frank Suttie, who is still negotiating his departure date with Pinsents.
Birmingham-based Pinsent & Co merged with Simpson Curtis in 1995, and has been hit by a series of departures to Garretts' Leeds office in the past year, including corporate star Sean Lippell.
Garretts' Leeds office has also hired two IP assistants: Nikki Ferguson from Cobbetts , and Fiona McBride from Walker Morris. Its 10-strong IP department now claims to have more IP specialists than any of its competitors outside London.
