The Law Society has shelved a £500,000 IT project, citing “technical issues”.
The Integradata management system was introduced in 2007 but has been plagued by problems, forcing the Law Society to revert to an older system.
An external IT analyst was brought in for six months last year, but failed to kick-start the project.
The minutes from a meeting last year show that theLaw Society decided to “suspend further rollout pending resolution of technical issues adversely affecting the first departmental installation of Integra”.
The software was intended to manage membership data for all UK solicitors.
A Law Society spokesman said: “We’re in the process of building a new database so we can provide more efficient support to solicitors. We’ve paused work to ensure it’s proceeding effectively and will meet our needs and that of the profession.”
