Janice Ward of Northolt, is suing Northwick Park and St Marks NHS Trust of Harrow. Her husband Mark Ward died on 22 September 1994. Her writ accuses the trust of negligence and breach of duty at Northwick Park Hospital. The claim is being brought under the Fatal Accidents Act 1976 and the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1934.

The Wisby Group of Croydon, is suing Donald Urquhart of 4 Smith Square, Westminster, London SW1, for £52,518, £41,856 and continuing interest of £20.68 a day allegedly owed for building work.

Charan Singh, who suffered brain damage after a concrete slab weighing one-and-a-half tons hit him on the head, is suing Balfour Beatty Construction and Bansall Building London. His writ says the accident happened on 3 October 1994 when he was working as a bricklayer at Homerton Hospital in Hackney, London E8. Writ issued by SS Bookatz & Co, Ilford.

Greenalls Management has issued a writ seeking a High Court declaration that landlord Mark Dunning is not entitled to stay on at the Cock O'Witton public house, in Station Road, Northwich. In April last year, the company served notice under the 1954 Landlord and Tenant Act telling him to vacate on 27 March 1998. The writ says Dunning has failed to carry out necessary formalities following the service of notice and it seeks a declaration from the High Court that he has no right to stay on at the pub after expiry of the notice.

Widow Karen Sharp has launched a High Court action for compensation. Her husband Leslie Sharp was killed in a road accident on 25 September 1996. Mrs Sharp, who is also the executor of her late husband's estate, is suing Elizabeth Barrett, of London SE14.
