Hammonds’ Italian practice is taking the lead in the launch of a pan-European media practice. The new group was the brainchild of merger partner Rossotto e Associati

In the UK, Hammonds has hired consultant Paul Woolf to act as coordinator and play a key role in winning new business. Woolf was previously the principal in a folded dotcom music company and has worked with Bridgepoint Capital. He took up a role with Hammonds four weeks ago.

Hammonds Rossotto is particularly strong in media and entertainment. Clients include Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and Italy’s largest association of advertising agencies AssoCommunicazione.

Hammonds’ head of international board David Armitage said: “We’ve determined to pursue a sector-focused approach. Each of those sectors is led out of the UK. This [new group] fits exactly with that, but the difference is that this is a pan-European group and will be led probably from our Italian office.”

The Italian practice also plans to open two new offices in the next two years, adding to its bases in Milan, Rome, Turin and Aosta. The likely locations are the north east and Bazi in the south.
