Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has lost tax specialist and private client partner Wynne Thomas to Lincoln's Inn firm Dawsons

Thomas, who will be joining Dawsons in January 2003, has been a partner at BLP for 16 years. He has extensive experience advising on UK and overseas tax planning issues with particular emphasis on advising high net-worth individuals and their trusts on property investments.

Thomas said that his decision to move to Dawsons was influenced by the firm's strong emphasis on private client work. “The firm seems to be very keen to expand that side of the business,” he said.

He added: “Even though the partners [at BLP] were very disappointed to hear about my departure, there was no animosity.”

Dawsons' managing partner Mathew Rea said: “[Wynne's] particular expertise on overseas tax issues will help meet our growing client demands in that area.”

After Thomas' exit, BLP will have six partners and seven assistants in its private client department, while Dawsons' department will grow to five partners.
