SIR Richard Scott, the man who grilled government ministers on arms exports to Iraq and now the Vice-Chancellor, is to outline the workings of public interest immunity certificates at a March conference.
National legal charity the Public Law Project has scored a coup with the lecture, 'The acceptable and unacceptable use of public interest immunity certificates', coming so soon after the release of the Scott report.
Public Law Project chair barrister Kate Markus said of the lecture: “We are privileged and very excited to have Sir Richard speaking at our third annual lecture on a topic which is so much in the public eye at the present time, especially as the Attorney General has just announced a review of public interest immunity law.”
The lecture is in London on 21 March. For more details, contact Jackie Cochrane, Public Law Project, 17 Russell Square, London WC1B 5DR, tel: 0171 467 9801.
