Maitland barrister defects to XXIV Old Buildings

Maitland Chambers has been hit with a rare departure as a senior trust barrister makes a move to XXIV Old Buildings. David Brownbill is set to join his new set today (2 August). He recently acted on one of the world’s largest fraud cases, the Grupo Torras litigation, and is an attorney of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Brownbill leaves just as Maitland prepares for its merger with Michael Driscoll QC’s 9 Old Square, which is expected to take place at the beginning of October. The merger will create the bar’s largest chancery set, with 63 members.
