Birmingham-based Wragge & Co will promote two associates to the partnership this year.
Pensions lawyer Paul Feathers and tax lawyer Neil Pearson will take up their new positions on 1 May.
Managing partner Quentin Poole said: “Pensions and tax fulfil a dual role. They generate high-quality standalone work and underpin the firm’s ability to service large corporate, finance and real estate deals.”
Feathers joined Wragges as a trainee and qualified in the pensions team in 2002. He will become the firm’s sixth partner in the pensions group.
Pearson joined in 2000 and acts for clients including 3i Group, Interserve and Homeserve. He will be the firm’s third tax partner.
Wragges promoted six partners last year but only three and one in the preceding years.
