DJ Freeman has appointed corporate insurance specialist Toby Greenbury to the role of senior partner following an equity vote last week. He will take over from litigator Colin Joseph in May.
Greenbury has been with the firm for 21 years. He is also a member of the New York bar. He has built up a wide range of corporate finance experience and has focused for a number of years on the introduction of corporate capital to Lloyd’s and other changes in the Lloyd’s market.
More recently he has been involved in establishing and advising the Tenon Group, the only publicly-quoted accountancy-based business services group in the UK.
Greenbury says that his priority is to build on the firm’s market sector approach, in particular its insurance and media practices.
The firm has recently suffered a number of losses. Tax partner Christopher Comyn and corporate partner Jonathan Martin are joining Watson Farley & Williams, while Richard Max, one of the UK’s leading planning lawyers, will join Olswang as head of planning at the beginning of June.
