In an article on page 3 in the 15 December issue of The Lawyer, we suggested that Leigh Day & Co and Richard Meeran had a finding of sexual discrimination upheld against them. In fact, an employment tribunal dismissed claims brought by Jemima Brewer that she had been unfairly dismissed by reason of her pregnancy and also dismissed her claim of sexual discrimination. The tribunal, however, found that although she was likely to have been made redundant in any event, the firm had not followed the correct procedure before making her redundant. She was therefore awarded £6,025.61. We are happy to set the record straight and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
