NICHE London NHS casework firm Le Brasseurs J Tickle has widened its commercial business by absorbing its small neighbour North & Co.
The merger creates a 57-fee earner practice with a main base in London and another office in Leeds.
North & Co's seven fee earners have moved to Le Brasseurs' London office in Covent Garden. Jonathan North, Philip Garland and William Hedley-Miller have joined the commercial department as partners, North as head of corporate law services.
No jobs losses have occurred as a result of the merger.
Le Brasseurs senior partner Robert Sumerling said the aim of the merger was to 'broaden the firm's commercial business and to enhance the all-round service we can provide to clients'.
When Le Brasseurs merged with J Tickle & Co in 1994 it created a major player in the field of NHS legal services.
North & Co had been involved in some NHS property work, but the merger is being seen more as a general expansion in the commercial arena.
North said of the merger: 'We believe that the fit with Le Brasseur J Tickle's commercial team is exceptional.'
