Former Allen & Overy (A&O) PR supremo Iain Rodger really pulled out the stops for his umpteenth and final leaving do, taking the time-honoured strategy of treating his best-loved colleagues and contacts to a night at the pub next door.

Dodge’s legacy will spread way beyond the walls of A&O, as proved by the vast array of A&O PR alumni in attendance. Norton Rose‘s PR head honcho Sean Twomey scared all and sundry with his chest-bumping, Dodger-humping dancing.

The Dodge’s predecessor, Ollie Pykett of Burges Salmon, flew in all the way from Bristol to prove one lawyer’s assessment true: “Bloody great professionally, but all over the place socially.”

Other Rodger progeny in attendance included Caroline Davies of the College of Law and Jo Shepherd of Ashurst, who was last seen pouring wine over one of Tulkinghorn’s lucky scribes.

A&O senior partner Guy Beringer even braved the assortment of hacks to wish the Dodger well, but made a swift exit before being grilled about his latest merger dreams. He missed a joyful evening.
