Hammonds’ Manchester office has not managed to escape the recent flood of partner losses following the end of the firm’s equity partner lock-in on 31 July. The firm lost its respected regional corporate head Stephen Levy to Pinsent Masons and is set to bid farewell to fixed-share equity construction partner Sean McCay in October as he heads to Pannone.
The departures are a blow for Hammonds in Manchester. The office has remained reasonably stable during the firm’s recent troubles, but it can ill-afford to lose Levy, who has a strong reputation in the city.
Meanwhile, Pinsents is celebrating a hire that will provide a real boost following its own losses to rival Eversheds and is setting out to conquer the North West corporate market.
