Energy group Linde has hired Christian Rau from Johnson & Johnson to replace outgoing general counsel Nick Deeming.
Rau was head of legal for Germany, Austria and Switzerland for Johnson & Johnson, and had also spent time in the company’s US and Brussels offices.
Before that, Rau worked in the Berlin and Cologne offices of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
He joins Linde in July, as first revealed in German publication Juve, to take over the reins from Deeming, due to depart in September.
Deeming became legal head following the £7.5bn takeover of BOC by Linde in September last year. While at the company, Deeming slashed the company’s panel from 150 firms to just five.
