Former Clarke Willmott chief executive David Sedgwick has been appointed CEO of niche immigration firm Magrath.
Sedgwick stood down as chief executive of Clarke Willmott last May, when the firm appointed him senior partner.
Under his 11-year reign the firm grew its turnover from £12m to £50m, but the recession hit Clarke Willmott hard and it appointed Stephen Rosser as CEO to lead its recovery. Sedgwick left the firm last October.
Magrath said Sedgwick had been appointed to help it grow in the post-Legal Services Act (LSA) environment.
Sedgwick commented: “[Magrath’s] status as a business immigration firm, its employment practice and its client base provide a strong foundation to build on and take advantage of the changes in the legal market from October this year.”
