White & Case has dipped in to US rival Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft for a finance specialist to boost its own European finance capabilities.
White & Case has hired Stephen Phillips as a partner in its financial restructuring and insolvency (FRI) practice in the firm’s London office.
Head of the White & Case’s London FRI practice Dan Hamilton said: “Stephen’s background in international work and his links to the distressed investment community will fit well with White & Case’s London and international FRI practices.”
Phillips joins the 22-partner banking and capital markets group from Cadwalader, where he was a special counsel in the financial restructuring group.
Earlier this month White & Case raided Clifford Chance for funds partner Matthew Judd as the US firm also looks to ramp up its European investment funds practice.
