Door knocked

Tulkinghorn’s inside gentlemen in the Commercial Court, Chancery Division, and the Technology and Construction Court pass word that their combined new home by 2010, the Rolls Building, has been slammed for not having enough doors (boom boom).

The plans of the £88m Business Court, which will be located at 110 Fetter Lane, London, have been criticised for including only a single entrance to serve the public, lawyers and clerks ferrying boxes of documentation.

“What’s the point of having a brand-new model building when you’ll have massive queues coming out of the only entrance?” one senior clerk asked Tulkinghorn. “We’ll look like idiots in front of the international legal community.”

And the pedestrians of Fetter Lane too, Tulkinghorn presumes.
