The joint head of SJ Berwin’s German operation and leader of its funds practice is to leave the firm at the end of the year.
As first reported in German legal publication JUVE Rechtsmarkt, Uwe Steininger is to step down frrom his position to pursue new challenges.
Rüdiger Knopf, head of the German practice, said in a statement: “Uwe made a major contribution to the firm, and in particular its practice in Germany, in setting up our office in Munich. He leaves with our best wishes for the future”.
Steininger joined SJ Berwin in 2000 and was responsible for opening the firm’s third German office in Munich. He was also a name partner of SJ Berwin Knopf Tulloch Steininger until the German firm was fully integrated in 2003.
Steininger specialises in fund structuring, venture capital investments and buy-outs. This role as head of this practice will transfer to tax partner André Gloede. Rüdiger Knopf will continue to lead SJ Berwin in Germany.
