Barrister gets chair in criminal justice

Barrister Roy Light has been appointed Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Light, who practises on the South Western Circuit, is based at the city's St John's Chambers. He is an acknowledged authority on several aspects of the criminal justice system including alcohol-related crime, car crime and the prison system. The appointment comes as Judge Stephen Tumim is made an Honorary Doctor of Laws by the university this week.
