Norton Rose has managed to hold on to part of a team of litigators who were all due to leave the firm with three-partners who resigned in July.
Five litigation assistants due to move with partners Christian Bouckaert, Pascal Ormen and Remi Passemard will now stay with Norton Rose. However, the remaining six assistants in the team will join the three partners, who are launching their own insurance litigation boutique.
The news coincides with a shoring up of the firm’s M&A capability in Paris. In January, a five-partner, 11-lawyer team headed by Jean-Francois Mercadier will join the firm from Sokolow Dunaud Mercadier & Carreras.
One of the new partners, Alex Brabant, is also an arbitration specialist. Rebuilding the litigation team has been a key focus for Norton Rose Paris since the three partners resigned earlier this year.
