Eversheds plans regional rejig

Eversheds managing partner David Gray is to shake up the firm’s regional structure with a bid to integrate the Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle offices.

The proposals, presented internally last week, follow last year’s move to integrate the Birmingham, Nottingham and Derby offices under one management team.

Stephen Hopkins, head of corporate for Leeds and Manchester, is tipped to take over a combined Northern corporate practice.

Gray said: “The HR and IT functions are run as one through Newcastle, Manchester and Leeds and this is aligning everything else.”

One source said: “There are too many people in executive roles. It’s all about getting people back to work.”www.thelawyer.com’s unparalleled breaking news service has now teamed up with law.com, part of American Lawyer Media, to bring you a selection of key US stories every week
