Hill Taylor Dickinson’s maritime insurance department has been hit with the loss of another key partner, Chris Zavos, who is joining Richards Butler.
It follows the exits of insurance partners Tim Taylor and Patrick Foss from Hill Taylor a year ago to Barlow Lyde & Gilbert’s small but burgeoning shipping department.
Hill Taylor retains several partners doing maritime insurance, although Zavos is considered to have been one of its biggest hitters.
Zavos joins a team of three partners at Richards Butler’s maritime insurance department, which is headed by Mark Connoley. His hull insurance practice fits well with the firm, which is considered strong in this sector.
Taylor and Foss were major losses for Hill Taylor. Their key insurance cases include Exxon Valdez, Piper Alpha and the Marchioness disaster.
