Dewey & LeBoeuf has bolstered its Rome office with the hire of a Clifford Chance team.
M&A partner Tiziana Del Prete has joined Dewey & LeBoeuf as an equity partner, bringing three associates with her. She is also joined by Guido Masini, a capital markets counsel at Clifford Chance in Rome, who enters the Dewey & LeBoeuf partnership. Masini brings two associates with him.
Bruno Gattai, Dewey & LeBoeuf Italy managing partner, said: “We are delighted to welcome our two newest Italian partners and their associates to Dewey & LeBoeuf’s burgeoning Italian practice. Tiziana and Guido are the perfect addition in order for us to reach a critical mass in the Rome office. They match exactly our culture, our client focus and approach to the legal profession.”

This is the latest clutch of hires from Dewey & LeBoeuf since it was created by the merger of Dewey Ballantine and LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae. In January (The Lawyer, 7 January) the firm opened in Dubai after poaching Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld partners Gavin Watson and Chris Sioufi.
The firm has also already turned to Clifford Chance, hiring Frankfurt tax counsel Bela Jansen at the end of last year (www.thelawyer.com, 6 December 2007).
