McDermott Will & Emery has taken over West Coast-based Campbell & Flores, adding 10 lawyers specialising in biotechnology intellectual property.
Dr Cathryn Campbell and Mauricio Flores, who co-founded Campbell & Flores in 1992, are joining McDermott’s San Diego and Orange County offices.
Campbell will lead the firm’s life sciences intellectual property practice group. Flores and David Beckwith will also join the firm as partners and will bring seven lawyers to McDermotts.
Campbell & Flores was mainly formed from lawyers previously with Pretty Schroeder Brueggemann & Clark and Pillsbury Madison and Sutro.
Campbell was the former head of Pretty Schroeder’s San Diego office, while Flores moved across from Pillsbury which went on to merge with Winthrop Stimson Putman & Roberts in 2001.
