Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer raised the M&A stakes last month, recruiting two lateral antitrust partners, and A&O has hit back, hiring Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz senior associate Michael Jahnke as a partner. Prior to working at Wachtell, Jahnke spent eight years at Shearman & Sterling. A&O head of competition Michael Reynolds said: “In order to provide an effective M&A capability, it's essential to provide competition advice to clients contemplating deals involving US businesses.”
