Lombardis creates new senior roles

Italian litigation firm Lombardi Molinari e Associati has shaken up its partnership structure, creating two new positions for associates to aim for.

Lombardis has introduced junior partners and senior associates posts for the first time. Seven associates have become junior partners, while the firm also bagged Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer senior associate David Fontana to take the junior partner count to eight. Fontana is a capital markets and M&A specialist with eight years’ experience.

Lombardis junior partners will be paid monthly with a yearly bonus, unlike the more senior equity partners, who have a yearly income.

The move comes as Freshfields votes to introduce salaried partners to offer more attractive career prospects to associates in London and Europe. Two associates in Rome have recently left to join Pavia e Ansaldo.
