Harbottle & Lewis has lost the head of its music practice to a rival west-end firm.
James Sully, who is particularly known for his expertise in relation to live music, will join entertainmennt boutique Sheridans in September.
He becomes the latest in a long line of high-profile music partner departures at Harbottles. Over the years exits have included Jim Beach, who left to manage Queen, James Wylie, who left for the Eurythmics and Andy Stinson, who joined Simon Fuller’s 19. Last year Sully’s then co-head, Anthony Bebawi, left to join EMI Publishing.
Sheridans, however, has been hiring, taking a film and TV team, including Peter McInerney and Robin Hilton, in November 2005 from The Simkins Partnership and enlisting rights specialist and former BPI Director General, Andrew Yeates, as a consultant in April 2006.
