Here’s one for any budding stars in legal market land. A new TV courtroom programme is to be produced by Scottish Media Group (SMG). The show, to be transmitted on ITV1 in April, features real disputes and yes, real people, although not a real court.
What’s urgently required is a host – a TV judge, if you like. Lords Woolf, Hoffmann or Bingham need not apply, but anybody else with a solid legal background may.
According to the SMG press office, the judge will be the “lynchpin” of the programme. They will maintain order in the court and ensure cases don’t get too long-winded. The successful candidate also needs to possess “a strong character, be witty, direct and would enjoy the challenge of a network show”.
Come on – it’s not Big Brother. Not quite. Applications to email@example.com. Best of luck, reality TVers.
