The arty luvvies over at Field Fisher Waterhouse refuse to have one of those Christmas parties where everyone eats sausage rolls in a meeting room for 10 minutes. Oh no, their party is fancy dress, specifically ‘Baroque and Roll’.

While most will probably turn up with their tie at a jaunty angle and make a beeline for the booze, managing partner Moira Gilmour is preparing to attend as Marie Antoinette. This will be hard to top. Only Mark Abell in full Louis XVI regalia would beat it.

The costume is apt. The firm recently introduced its first bonus scheme to head off a peasants’ revolt, sometimes called an associates’ revolt, which could have turned nasty for the firm’s ruling class. Hopefully Gilmour can avoid the tumbrils.
