French independent Ginestie launches recruitment drive

French independent Ginestié Magellan Paley-Vincent & Associés has added six fee-earners to its roster, poaching from domestic rivals and US firms.

The firm has hired Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton associate Bruno Bertrand as a corporate partner, as well as promoting Franck Bourgeois. Bourgeois was an associate at Ginestié since 2004, having joined the firm from EY Law.

In addition four new associates are joining Ginestié, including Gibson Dunn & Crutcher lawyer Emmanuel Chauvet. The new associates practise in corporate, employment and contract law, and come from firms including French independents Varaut Carrère Varaut and Alérion.

The hires come on the back of a strong 2005 for Ginestié. The firm announced turnover of EUR14m (£9.6m) following the merger between former DLA ally Ginestié Paley-Vincent & Associés and Magellan in February 2005.

Ginestié now has 25 partners and over 60 fee-earners, practising from the firm’s headquarters in Paris and its outposts in Paris and Lyon.
