Fox Williams‘ legendary founding partner Ronnie Fox is to leave the firm at the end of this month.
The news, first revealed on www.thelawyer.com (13 April), has surprised many in the partnership and employment law field, where Fox has built up a solid reputation during his years in practice.
The firm refused to give details of Fox’s plans for the future, but fellow founding partner and current senior partner Tina Williams said in a statement: “We’re sorry to see him go and wish him much happiness and success for the future.”
Williams replaced Fox as senior partner in May 2005 after Fox stood down from the role he had held for 16 years. The pair set up Fox Williams in 1989 together with partners Paul Osborne, Nigel Miller, Stephen Sidkin and Mark Watson, who are all still at the firm.
Fox’s departure is the end of an era. He leaves Fox Williams with 13 partners and a thriving practice in employment and litigation.
