Stuttgart-based Menold Herrlinger Reinking & Partner is doubling in size by merging with two other German practices.
Dirtmund and Bochum firm Aulinger & Spieker and Essen based Krameyer von Falkenhausen Hanke & Partner will join up with Menold Herrlinger in June.
Menold Herrlinger currently has less than 65 lawyers. A spokesman says: “The firms will give us 60 more lawyers. We merged to get important cases and we need manpower. These two firms do similar work to us. They practise business law, corporate law, M&A, IPOs and other similar areas to us.”
Menold Herrlinger has a close relationship with Ernst & Young and handles cases for a number of international companies.
The spokesman says: “Our clients are mainly English and American but they also need to know how law works in Germany.”
But he says: “we do not consult on foreign law unless it is on international issues.”
The spokesman also says there are plans for future mergers.
