Davies Arnold Cooper (DAC) has taken over Manchester-based construction boutique Moore & Co.

DAC will merger with the four-lawyer firm, which has offices in Manchester and London, on 1 November 2006.

Moore & Co’s managing partner, Colin Moore, and partner Phillip Fry join the new firm as partners. All four lawyers will join DAC at its 60 Fountain St, Manchester office.

David Weare, Head of Construction at Davies Arnold Cooper, said: “The move strengthens our North West offering in construction, and we feel that our business objectives complement each other.”

Moore & Co turned over £0.5m at the end of the 2005-06 financial year. Its clients include JCB, mechanical contracts company NG Bailey, and Chester City Council.

Davies Arnold Cooper (DAC) also boosted its corporate group this month by poaching Winward Fearon’s head of corporate David Manifould.

M&A specialist Manifould joins DAC as a salaried partner. Prior to joining Winward Fearon, Manifould was a partner at Masons for four years, where he practised corporate and commercial law.
