The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (Cedr) is introducing a new initiative designed to encourage lawyers from ethnic minorities to become mediators. Cedr, in association with the Law Society and the Bar Council, will run a five-day course in November this year to train new mediators. The organisation says it has seen a shortage of ethnic minority mediators despite more requests for mediators from ethnic backgrounds.
