Bethany Wagstaff is suing Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital Trust, of London SE1. She claims she suffered personal injuries through the trust's negligence and breach of duty between May 1992 and 18 January 1994. The writ says her "injuries" were caused by treatment, or omission of treatment, at Hedley Atkins Unit in Guy's Hospital.

Judith Fairchild of Woodlesford, Leeds, is seeking damages after the death of Arthur Fairchild on 18 September 1996 as a result of asbestos exposure. The writ is against GH Dovener and Son of Manchester, and Waddingtons of Leeds. It claims he was exposed to asbestos when he worked for GH Dovener and Son at Meanwood swimming baths and at Waddingtons' factory in Leeds.

Deborah Spencer of Matlock, who became infected with the hepatitis C virus, is suing the National Blood Authority. Her writ says she became infected with the virus after receiving blood transfusions on 16 April 1991.

International Factors of Brighton is suing Hamptons Group, trading as Hamptons International of Chelsea, London SW1, for £5,052, with interest of £209 and continuing interest of £1.11 a day. The money is said to be owed for goods sold and delivered to Hamptons at its request.

Ove Arup and Casson Condor are being sued for breach of contract, negligence, breach of statutory duty and an indemnity in connection with services they provided. FW Bull and Son is being sued in connection with cladding and other works, and Scottish Amicable is being sued for breach of contract, negligence, breach of statutory duty and an indemnity. Tarmac construction is being sued for breach of contract, negligence, breach of statutory duty and an indemnity in connection with building works.
