Fladgate restructuring chief Rupert Connell is to leave the firm to join Barlow Lyde and Gilbert (BLG).
Connell has headed Fladgate’s corporate restructuring team since 2000 after joining the firm from Hobson Audley Hopkins & Wood (now Faegre & Benson).
He will join BLG’s corporate team as a partner working under head of the restructuring and insolvency Jon Yorke.
Connell, who also practices in financial services regulation, said: “BLG has got a client base which is more compatible with my insolvency practice. I look forward to joining John’s team.”
Connell advises on all aspects of corporate insolvency, formal insolvency procedures, turnarounds and corporate restructurings.
It is BLG’s second raid on Fladgate in less than a year, after the lateral hire of head of employment Adam Lambert in November last year.
Last month BLG elected London professional liability chief Simon Konsta as its new senior partner, replacing Richard Dedman who held the post for seven years. (See story)
