The Association of Solicitor Investment Managers is taking steps to beef up its public profile this year.
It has appointed public relations adviser Rowland Cross of City PR consultants Broadgate to work alongside ASIM in
a bid to gain more media coverage for member firms offering investment management services.
The appointment coincides with the publication of an updated ASIM directory, which is designed for general distribution and gives advice to the public about members and their services.
The directory shows that ASIM's full membership has grown from 17 to 22 firms, with new members Brachers in Maidstone, Birkett Westhorp & Long in Norfolk, Lester Aldridge in Bournemouth, Wilsons in Salisbury and Batten & Co of Yeovil. Associate membership has jumped from three to 11.
A series of regional meetings is being run for member firms designed to look at investment issues. They are primarily aimed at the smaller firms, giving them an opportunity to discuss the investment scene generally. The first meeting is in Tunbridge Wells this week and the others will be in Taunton, Southampton, Newmarket in East Anglia, Edinburgh and the Midlands.
A new prospectus should be available shortly for law firms interested in the association.
A software users group has also been set up to examine portfolio management and other systems.
